He has an interesting background that has led him to back himself into being a Podcast consultant and part-time entrepreneur. As a creative, he focuses his attention to the content of his new media and podcasting. But his real love is to generate another business that will deliver a high-tech and niche-oriented digital magazine (see http://www.webpromag.com for some basic information and blueprint-like structure).

Ray has offered a 20 per cent discount for any video services or podcast consulting services to any listeners of this podcast (just mention you heard it on The Struggling Entrepreneur).

02- Podcaster Courtesy and Audacity Settings to improve your audio quality

In this episode of the Community of 5 Podcast, we deliver a discussion with a successful podcaster, Daniel J. Lewis (also known as “The Ramen Noodle”), who has 3 podcast series and his own podcast network (known as the “Noodle-mx network” at www.noodle.mx, including THE AUDACITY TO PODCAST (which is in iTunes) at www.theaudacitytopodcast.com.

We discuss with Daniel J Lewis 2 topics:

(1) Perspectives about Podcaster courtesy for communities within the podosphere, especially when it comes to:
- Bumpers
- Interviews
- Mentions to include links
and other honorable, courteous, win-win interactions proving integrity that can help build relationships and develop podcaster subject-matter-expertise so that the overall winners are the listeners.

(2) Settings in Audacity that are simple to manipulate, so that you can improve the quality of your audio mp3 files.
Note: this is just a very brief description of the details given in 2 podcast episodes in Daniel J Lewis’s series:
and
- www.theaudacitytopodcast.com/10

We hope that you will enjoy listening to these podcaster perspectives that are directed to both new and veteran podcast content creators.

If you are an aspiring podcast content creator, there may be some caveats that will be of value to you (so you can be aware of those shady and self-centered podcasters that talk out of both sides of their mouth when they mention what they do “for the community” but lack the integrity described in this audio podcast).

If you have any comments, please feel free to send an email to:

Or, if you wish to share your comments with other members of the Community of Five, please go to the facebook page of COMMUNITY OF FIVE supported by Paul Colligan (of www.paulcolligan.com).

Our thanks to Daniel J. Lewis for his previous interview on www.strugglingenetrepreneur.com (episode 129B), and his interview of myself on www.theaudacitytopodcast.com, and now this discussion.
We thank him for supporting the podcast community with great honorable and courteous actions that can be lessons from himself as a role-model for other podcasters.

01- Review of Samson Go-mic and welcome to CO5Podcast

Welcome to the podcast series of the COMMUNITY OF 5 PODCAST.

This is a supplement to the COMMUNITY OF FIVE program from Paul Colligan within his facebook environment.

We will have a sharing environment where we will post hints, tips, tricks, techniques and information to help us all become better podcasters–including reviews of products and services, as well as interviews with those involved in specialties of the podosphere.

In this episode of COMMUNITY OF 5 PODCAST, we take a brief look during a review of the portable mic for the mobile podcaster or interviewer with the Samson go-mic.
This is NOT a portable recorder, but a portable microphone that connects via USB cable from the mic directly to your laptop or computer, so that you, as a podcaster, can record directly into your audio recording software (like Audacity).

As you will hear in the audio podcast, this mic is small, yet sturdy; it is portable and mobile, yet powerful enough to compete with the low-end USB microphones, as well.

It also has a good price point (you can check on Amazon.com for the latest prices at
http://www.amazon.com/Samson-Mic-Compact-USB-Microphone/dp/B001R76D42/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=musical-instruments&qid=1280459125&sr=8-1

And if you want to get first impressions when initially released, I myself did a 5-minute review of the mic for Dave Jackson’s SCHOOL OF PODCASTING podcast episode 116 on May 3, 2010. You can get it from either the iTunes directory (School of Podcasting – Learn to Podcast) or from his web site at www.schoolofpodcasting.com.

In future episodes of COMMUNITY OF 5 PODCAST, we plan to have:

- an interview with an audio podcaster with his own podcast and new media network, where we will see how he can give us hints on how to get better audio and smaller mp3 files by tweaking a few of the Audacity settings;
and
- a comparison and contrast review of the Zoom portable recorders–including the Zoom H1, H2, H4, H4N and Q3.

Thank you for your support, and welcome aboard to the supplement podcast for Paul Colligan’s COMMUNITY OF FIVE in facebook.

If you want to provide feedback, feel free to send an email to:

CommunityOf5Podcast @ gmail.com (to prevent spam).

Thank you so much for your interest, and welcome aboard to helping the podcast content PRODUCERS!

Sincerely,
Fred Castaneda
